Wood-burning vs gas — which is better?

Wood feels more authentic but means smoke, ash cleanup, and burn-ban awareness. Gas is push-button convenient and cleaner. About 60% of our installs are gas.

Are wood-burning pits legal in Utah?

Yes, but Salt Lake County and some others have winter inversion no-burn days. Gas is exempt.

Can a fire feature be added to an existing patio?

Often yes — depends on the existing slab/base spec and code clearances from structures.

How far from the house does it need to be?

Wood-burning: typically 10-15 feet from any structure. Gas with proper venting: as close as 3 feet. We design for code.

Do gas pits work in winter?

Yes — we use freeze-tolerant valves and lines. Most run year-round.

How much gas line work is included?

We coordinate with a licensed gas plumber for the line work — included in quote, separately permitted.
