PAVER PATIOS.

Interlocking concrete pavers and natural stone — installed over a real engineered base, sealed and locked, built to outlast Utah winters by 25+ years.

Why pavers

THE STRONGEST
SURFACE FOR UTAH.

Concrete pavers are individually-cast units locked into a flexible sand base. Unlike a poured slab, they don't crack — when the ground shifts (and Utah ground always shifts), pavers move with it and re-settle. If a paver ever does fail, it's a 20-minute swap, not a jackhammer job.

Done right with the right base, a paver patio in Northern Utah will outlast the house it's attached to.

FAQ

PAVER PATIO QUESTIONS.

How much does a paver patio cost in Utah?

Most projects run $14-$25 per square foot installed, fully turnkey. A 400 sq ft patio with a basic Belgard concrete paver and standard 6" base typically lands around $7,000-$10,000. Premium materials, complex patterns, curved edges, or step-downs add to that. We always provide an itemized quote.

How long does the install take?

A standard residential paver patio takes 7-14 working days, weather permitting. The biggest variable is base prep — if your soil is clay-heavy or there's an existing slab to remove, add 2-3 days. We give you a calendar window in your quote.

Do paver patios crack like concrete?

Pavers are individual units, so the patio itself can't crack the way a poured slab does. A single paver could theoretically chip under heavy impact, but it's a 20-minute swap. Concrete slabs in Utah often show cracks within 5 years from freeze-thaw movement. Pavers don't have that problem.

What about weeds between the pavers?

We use polymeric sand in every joint — it hardens into a flexible bond that locks pavers in place and stops weeds and ants. Re-application every 7-10 years keeps it fresh.

Will it survive Utah winters?

Yes — that's the whole point of the engineered base and the flexible joint system. We compact a 4-6" road-base sub-base specifically because Utah's freeze-thaw cycles are aggressive. Concrete slabs often crack from this; pavers shift and re-settle.

Do I need a permit?

Patio installations under 30" off-grade and not attached to the structure typically don't require permits in most Northern Utah jurisdictions. Salt Lake County and Park City have specific stormwater rules for impervious surfaces over a certain area — we handle the permit pull when needed and roll it into the quote.
