PROVO
PATIO BUILDER.

Custom paver patios, stamped concrete, and full outdoor living spaces — built to handle the BYU-area soil, the 7,000ft elevation freeze cycles, and Utah Valley's drainage realities.

Provo's Trusted Patio Builder

TWO DECADES BUILDING
IN PROVO.

Peak Patios has been installing hardscape across Utah Valley since 2006. From compact paver patios in the avenues to full backyard transformations on the bench above BYU, we know the soils, the codes, and what actually holds up through a Utah Valley winter.

Provo's mix of older established neighborhoods and newer developments means we work with everything from 1920s sandstone properties to brand-new construction. Each one gets a base prep tuned to the specific soil and slope.

Where We Build

PROVO NEIGHBORHOODS WE SERVE.

North Park / Tree Streets

Older homes, mature trees. Specialty in compact paver patios that respect existing root systems.

Edgemont

Bench-side homes with slope. Heavy on tiered patios and retaining walls.

Sherwood Hills

Premium hardscape — natural stone, integrated lighting, outdoor kitchens.

Foothill / Wymount

Family backyards, lots of stamped concrete and fire pits.

Grandview

Mid-century homes, modern paver patterns, accessibility-friendly layouts.

Riverbottoms

Larger lots, often involving drainage solutions for the river-adjacent properties.

Joaquin

Tight historic district homes near downtown — careful access, smaller paver projects.

South Provo

Newer subdivisions, full-yard builds with concrete pavers and fire features.

Provo-Specific

WHAT MAKES BUILDING IN PROVO DIFFERENT.

  • 01
    Higher elevation freeze cycles
Provo sits ~4,500 ft. Combined with the canyon-mouth cold-air drain, you get more freeze-thaw cycles than SLC. Engineered base depth matters even more here.
  • 02
    Utah Lake water table
West-side Provo properties can have a high water table. We design with sub-surface drainage to keep base layers from saturating.
  • 03
    Provo City patio code
Most patios under 30" don't need permits, but anything attached to the structure or over 200 sqft of new impervious surface triggers review.
  • 04
    Bench-side slope
Edgemont and Sherwood Hills lots often involve significant grade. Tiered patios with retaining walls are common.

Provo Patio FAQ

PROVO PATIO QUESTIONS.

How long does a patio install take in Provo?

7-14 working days for a standard residential patio. We schedule most Provo builds April through October — winter installs are possible but base prep takes longer in frozen ground.

Do I need a permit for a patio in Provo?

Patios under 30" off-grade and not attached to the structure typically don't require a building permit in Provo City. Larger projects or impervious surface over 200 sqft may. We handle the paperwork when needed.

Will my BYU-area HOA approve pavers?

For most Provo neighborhoods, yes — pavers and stamped concrete are pre-approved hardscape materials. We'll prepare the design package your HOA architectural committee expects.

Can you handle the slope on the Provo bench?

Yes. Most of our Edgemont and Sherwood Hills builds involve at least one retaining wall. We engineer block walls (Allan Block, Versa-Lok) up to 4' without permits, taller with structural review.

How early should I book a spring Provo build?

Spring schedule (April-June) typically books out by late February. For a summer build, get on the schedule by April. Fall and early-winter projects sometimes have shorter lead times.

Do you build outside Provo proper — Springville, Mapleton, Orem?

Yes — anything in Utah County. We just don't have dedicated city pages for every town yet. Same crew, same pricing.
